
Mary Elizabeth Teague, 85, of Austin passed away peacefully on March 30, 2006. She was born in Jackson, MS on March 21, 1921, the only child of Malcolm Everett Nordin and Mary Elizabeth Huey. She attended schools in Jackson graduating from both Central High School in 1938 and Millsaps College in 1942 with high honors. She married Richard Lynn Lauderdale and they set off to begin a new life. In 1952 they had a daughter, Lynn. Mary Elizabeth was very active in organizations during her lifetime belonging to the Austin Women's Club, Chi Omega, D.A.R., Retired Officer's Club, Jr. League of Austin and the Garden Workshop. She was also a charter member of the Jr. League Sustainer's Book Club as she was an avid reader. She was a gracious hostess and loving friend and will be deeply missed. Mary Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Lauderdale, daughter Lynn Lauderdale Basham, and husband Jack Teague. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 1:30 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Windsor and Exposition. Graveside services will take place on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 11 AM, Lakewood Memorial Cemetery, Jackson, MS. Honoring Mrs. Teague as pallbearers will be Guy H. Burrous, Robert Durkee, Jr., Robert Gerrie, Col. Lee McCrary, Charles Nelson, Keye E. Perry, Sr., Jim Stafford, and William vonVoss.
