In 1985 Mason and his family moved to Austin, TX, and started Reid’s Cleaners and Laundry with a single store in Oak Hill. The business later grew to over 20 stores in Austin and Round Rock.
Mason was an extremely loving and generous leader and often helped those in need. He had a zest for life and loved to have a good time. Everyone who knew him lovingly referred to him as their best friend. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and often played at Balcones Country Club with a loyal group of golfers. He enjoyed fishing and attending an annual fishing trip with friends and family in South Padre Island. He also enjoyed fantasy football and won his league’s Super Bowl two times. Mason was a faithful Christian and enjoyed attending church on Sundays.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Cindy Reid, parents Earl and Virginia Reid, and brother, Jimmy Reid.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years Dorothy Reid; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Esmeralda Reid; daughter and son-in-law Allison and Clayton Janik; grandchildren Audrey, Briana, and Reese Reid; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Silvia Reid; brother, Doyle Reid; and nephew Michael Reid and his family.
The family would like to thank the countless health care professionals for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
