On March 10, 2021, with the guiding light of Santo Nino Divino, Micaela Ramirez, passed into her final heavenly home. She was born September 29, 1929, in Buda, Texas. She resided in a big, white beautiful two-story farm home until age 16. The next family home was on Taylor Street in Austin, where mountains of memories were amassed for 27 years. When AISD purchased blocks of land for a new school, the family moved to their Montopolis property where more great adventures were to be had. After Montopolis they moved to their permanent home on Woodland Avenue where they lived for the next 48 years and the rest of their lives. There are many beautiful memories treasured by family and friends.
Micaela is an alum of Austin High School Class of 1950. She attended Durham College for two years and later studied Fine Arts at the University of Texas. After finishing her education, she worked in the printing industry for 40 years, and ultimately a successful business-woman. Micaela was proud co-owner of El Jacalito Restaurant for 24 years. She greeted her employees, customers, vendors, musicians, with her friendly smile. We will miss hearing our beloved Aunt say "Happy Faces All the Time."
Most importantly, Micaela was a devout Catholic attending Sunday Mass regularly and praying the Holy Rosary daily to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
