Michael “Mikey” Carothers, 17 passed away after a tragic event, a life that was just beginning cut way too short. Even though Michael was taken from us before his time, he lived his life to his fullest every single day.
Michael was passionate about his family, friends, video games, the Pittsburgh Steelers and all football, cars, and drawing. He was attending Navarro High School and working extra hard towards graduating this year with his senior class while also maintaining full-time employment with Whataburger. Michael accomplished so much in the last year and we know he was on his way to making himself a reputable man had he had the opportunity. We are all so proud of him and most of all he was proud of himself.
Mikey leaves to cherish his memories his mother Kelly Wallace; parent Mike Carothers, grandmother Kathy O’Neill; sisters Dalontria, Jordin, Kasia, Makaiya; brother Quaylen; nephew C.J.; an amazing group of friends that are all like his brothers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy & Edith O’Neill; and aunt Megan McClain.
A visitation for Mikey will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752, followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 PM.
