

Mr. Cecil Smith was born December 25, 1941 to the union of Antone and Clemmie Smith. He spent his formative years in Coupland, Texas where he was educated in the Coupland School System and OL Price High School in Taylor, Texas. Brother Smith confessed his love for Christ at Lake View Baptist Church in Elgin, Texas where he was baptised. During Brother Smiths young years, he developed a deep love for music. Throughout his entire life, his love for music never faded. In the late sixties and early seventies, he had a successful career managing musicians and a band known as "The Purple Flames". They played many venues throughout Texas. After his music career, Brother Smith decided to pursue his greatest dream and became an entrpenuer. In 1977, he started a successful business, Multiple Cleaning, Inc. with his oldest brother Willie Smith in Austin, Texas. He was the owner of Multiple Cleaning, Inc. for over 35 years. Brother Smith was always a quick learner and he instilled his work ethic and knowledge for business for his employees. He was a leader and great teacherin the church, serving as President of the Mount Pilgrim Church Choir and the Sunday School Class. In the eighties, Brother Smith became an ordained Deacon and served as Vice President of the Deacon Board and President of Brotherhood. Deacon Smith was also a leader in his community, serving as the President of the Couplan School Class Reunion. He was united in marriage to Evon Banks. Their love was bonded by God and they were dedicated to each other until the end. He was preced in death by his parents, Antone and Clemmie Smith and two brothers, Willie and Melford. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Evon; children, Vivonne (Miguel) Rodriguez of Dallas, LeSean (Eric) Dauterive of Sacramento, CA, Cynthis (Walter) Lee of Austin, Cierra Smith of Waco, Lamont (Averylle) Smith of Austin, and Cecilya Smith of Houston; siblings, Etta Henigan of Elgin, Melvin Smith of Austin, Antone (Jewel) Smith of Elgin, Margie Green of Manor, Nell (Lewis) of Elgin, and Curtis Smith of Austin; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
