

Nagae was raised by her parents, Iwao and Emiko Osawa, in Aichi Prefecture, Inuyama, Japan. She has two siblings; an older sister, Chizuyo and one younger brother, Motohiro. As a child she loved theatre arts and music. In her spare time she enjoyed singing and playing the piano.
In 1979, Cheemay attended college at Creighton University in Nebraska. She was welcomed by her host-family of Dr. Ken and Rose Bond and their two sons. Her favorite courses were in mathematics and computer science. Cheemay earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and also pursued graduate school earning her Master of Science from Creighton University. While at Creighton she became close friends with Seiko Kuykendall, Kinue Miki and Jesse Ninomiya.
Cheemay worked 30+ years as a Business Analyst and Database Administrator for Verizon Telecommunications. During this time she earned numerous awards for her dedication and providing the exemplary service to her customers. George and Cheemay met while working for Verizon and they exchanged wedding vows on January 3, 2006, in Inuyama, Japan.
Cheemay was always ready to help with community activities. She served on committees for the Friendship Ranch Home Owners Association and was a member of the University of Texas at Austin Blanton Museum of Art.
Cheemay was a fervent Bobcat fan and loved attending Texas State football games. She was also an avid player of Zelda; but by far, her favorite pursuit was spending time with her two grandsons, Vance and Hank.
Cheemay is preceded in death by her father Iwao Osawa. She is survived by her husband, George, stepson, Jorin, stepdaughter, Shanon, son-in-law, Justin, grandsons, Vance and Hank, mother, Emiko, sister, Chizuyo, brother, Motohiro, father-in-law, Larry, mothers-in-law, Emily and Lynn, sisters-in-law, Cathy, Ange, and Amy, brother-in-law, Brad, and her beloved dog, Tatsu.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Cheemay will be inurned at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Remembrance Gardens at Riverbend, Austin, Texas.
