

Nancy Lee Thrall Walsh July 23, 1944 -- July 12, 2008 Nancy Lee Thrall Walsh, 63, of Austin, Texas passed away on July 12, 2008 from complications from kidney cancer after having fought a valiant fight. She was born on July 23, 1944 in Berkley, CA to Dorothy Lee Sturm Thrall and Daniel Joseph Thrall. Her family moved frequently when she was a child, allowing her to live in many parts of the United States. Nancy attended 3 schools during high school, before graduating from Kirkwood High School in St. Louis Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri and majored in Art and Design. She spent much of her adult life in Houston before moving to Austin in 1994. She modeled professionally for many years and also worked as a systems consultant for Automatic Data Processing in Houston. Creating beautiful objects was Nancy's avocation… From fashioning intricate needlework items for her family to fabricating tapestry pillows using antique needlework pieces and original pieces of her design, she leaves a legacy of fine artwork for her children, grandchildren and many others to treasure. Nancy gave her time and talents to the Austin community as well, volunteering with the Assistance League, working on fundraisers for Hospice Austin and Wonders & Worries, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Women's Symphony League for several years, where she also chaired decorations for three Symphony Jewel Balls. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Cunningham of Austin, her husband Mike and their children, Will, Ellee, Keni Anne, Meggie and Joe Cunningham and her son, Brian Walsh of Carlsbad, CA and his wife Rebecca and their children Brendan and Courtney Walsh. She is also survived by her parents, her sister Carol Lynn Noble and her husband Robert Noble of Springfield, MO and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Daniel Thrall. Nancy's life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 8134 Mesa Drive, Austin, Texas 78731.
