She was born on February 17, 1932, at home in Kingsland, Texas to Robert Jason “Jake” and Myrtle Caroline (Wootton) Harmon. The family moved to Austin when Marlene was still young. She graduated from Stephen F Austin High School, Austin TX.
Marlene married Leon “Leo” Russell Zipperer on June 17, 1955, in Austin, Texas. Leo was in the Air Force and they lived in Guam, Kansas, and South Carolina. When Leo was in Germany, Marlene lived in Kingsland. She worked several places, including The State of Texas, American Fireworks, Coastal Transport, and retired from Farmer’s Insurance.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Zipperer on August 13, 2008; her parents, Jake and Myrtle Harmon; brother, Douglas Harmon; and sister, Shirley Mackin.
Survivors include: Daughter Louise Zipperer (Brian Richardson), daughter Leona Iseley (Marc), seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many close family members and friends.

Services will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress, Austin, Texas. Visitation will be from 9 am – 11 am on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Funeral service will be from 11 am – 12 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Burial will be at Kingsland Cemetery on Hwy 2545, Kingsland, Texas at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
