

Ofelia Lerma Homann Lopez, was born on August 17, 1937 in Kyle, Texas to her parents Salvador Lerma and Dionicia DeLeon. As a young girl, Ofelia worked in the cotton fields, so she was no stranger to hard work. Growing up she always worked at least two jobs at a time to help out her Mom and Dad. Some of her jobs included working at the Cisco Bakery, Driskill Hotel, and Castro’s Cleaners on East 6th Street. She ended up working for the Del Valle School District for 28 years as a Food Service Manager, while also worked part time in a Laundromat on East 1st street. She was a loving mother and a faithful Christian woman. She cared for everyone and was always praying for anyone who needed it. She was quick-witted and could always make someone’s day brighter by giving them a good laugh. Ofelia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Salvador Lerma; mother, Dionicia DeLeon; her first husband of 7 years, Albert W. Homann; her second husband of 20 years, Abelardo Lopez; and her son, Daniel Fritz Homann.
Ofelia is survived by her son, Albert Dean Homann and his wife Isabel; her grandchildren along with their families, Albert Dean Homann Jr. and wife Sally, and their children: Amber, Alissa, and Araceli Homann; Adam William Homann; Ashley Danielle Messer and husband Cole, and their children: Brody Cole, Chloe Danielle, and Daniel Wesson Messer; Daniel Fritz Homann Jr and wife Emily.; and a host of extended family and friends.
