Patricia "Pat" Tidmore Assaf peacefully took her earthly talents to a new level of existence on Monday, January 17th. She was a beloved, vivacious wife to Atiyeh and a nurturing, supportive mother to Karen and Saleem. Pat was known from her childhood days in Birmingham, Alabama and Pittsburg, Texas as having big plans to see the world, as being dedicated to her close friends, and believing strongly in family. Throughout her adulthood while living in Dallas, Louisiana, Lebanon, Longview, the eastern shore of Maryland, Baltimore, and Austin, along with numerous far flung and nearby travel destinations, she fully lived up to those initial early beliefs and aspirations. Pat's eight years living in Lebanon after her and her husband's retirements was a treasure. Her home there was her castle, custom-built by her king. Pat lived in Austin the past thirteen years near Saleem with welcome, long visits to Karen's in Michigan, especially to avoid Texas' heat. In Austin, she crafted rich bonds with new friends through St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Pat is preceded to glory by her parents Mae and Milford. Her sorely missed brother, Randy, has also been awaiting their now joyous reunion. Those remembering Pat in this realm include her beloved husband, Atiyeh, their daughter, Karen, their son, Saleem, and daughter-in-law Lori, plus a raucous crowd of grand children, nephews and nieces, sister's-in-law, and friends. One of her oft mentioned wishes to simply roll her down the stairs and have a big party once she was gone was only partly fulfilled. The big party partaken by those left behind will ever continue to be full of toasts, laughter, stories, tears, and more toasts. Bye Pat. Bye Aunt Pat. Bye Grams. Bye Mom. Bye my Darling. Until we see you again.
