

He was born the 30th of October 1945 in Bastrop, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Hamilton Ayers, his son Kevin (Elizabeth) Ayers, daughters Debra Ayers and Christina (Joshua) Martin, five grandchildren, Zachary, Payton and Nicholas Ayers, Morgan and Sloane Martin, his brother, Harold (Kimberly) Ayers and his sister Sue (John) Taylor and many nieces and nephews. He was raised in Austin, graduated from S.F. Austin High School and became a Master Electrician. He co-owned A&D Electric. Upon retirement from Motorola, he moved to Lake LBJ with Mary Ann to enjoy their children, grandchildren and life on the lake. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Sunrise Beach, Texas. He volunteered at St. David’s Medical Center and was a regular donor at Central Texas Regional Blood Center. He also served on the Sandy Harbor POA board of directors and the SHVFD.
One of his passions was competitive softball, and he spent many years playing on teams around Austin. He also enjoyed a round of golf. He will be missed. Donations may be made to The Central Texas Regional Blood Center.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from one o’clock in the afternoon until two o’clock, Saturday, the 7th of January at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at two o’clock following the visitation.
