Refugia "Cookie" Acuna, age 89, of Austin passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. She was born on September 29, 1918 to Martina and Pedro Rivera in Berclair, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Evaristo L. Acuna. She is survived by her sons, David Acuna and wife Toni, Daniel Acuna and wife Lydia, Martin Acuna, Richard Acuna and wife Nora; daughters, Margaret Gonzales, Otilia Aguirre; brother, Ramon Rivera; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Staff at Stonebridge Health Center and Odyssey Hospice for their care and compassion for "Cookie". Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
