

Reginald Rios, resident of The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home, member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Temple, Texas passed away on October 6, 2012 . Born on July 28, 1925, in Austin, Texas.
Preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Maria G. Rios, his brother Frank Rios Jr.
Survived by his wife Amelia Riojas Rios, daughter Rosanna Rios Lenzi and son-in-law Patrick H. Lenzi of Round Rock, Texas. Grandchildren Anthony Lenzi and wife Ashley, of Austin, Texas, AnaMaria Lenzi of Round Rock, Texas and great-granddaughters Jenna and Emma Lenzi of Austin, Texas. His sisters Amalia Guajardo and husband Jesse from Austin, Texas, Sister Amalia Marie Rios C.S.C from Norte Dame, Indiana, sister-in-law Guadalupe Rios and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reginald served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 under the 79th Infantry “Cross of Lorraine” Division. During WWII, he was a Bronze Star recipient after landing on Omaha Beach seven days after D-Day.
Upon returning from the service, he followed the family profession of tailoring ensuring that his customers were satisfied and taking pride in his work.
In 2001 his experiences in WWII were published in “Narratives”, a U.S. Latino and Latina WWII history project at U.T. School of Journalism.
Visitation at 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m., Cook Walden North Lamar location.
Mass 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas. Private burial at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen,Texas with military honors.
