

Reynell Nevill Wilson, 87, passed away on February 9, 2009 in Austin. She was born on August 26, 1921 in Sherman to Reynard Nevill and Ida Beatrice Earnhart Nevill. She graduated from Sherman High School and eloped with Woodrow Wilson to Durant, Oklahoma on May 30, 1939. They moved to Austin where Reynell worked at Kress's while Woodrow finished his last year at the University of Texas. They went to Rio Hondo one year for Woodrow to teach and then returned to Austin to make their home. Woodrow taught science at Austin High School and then Reagan High School and Nell raised their two sons, Robert and John. When John started kindergarten, she began work as a key punch operator with the City of Austin, Secretary of State's Office and then Austin Life Insurance Company. She began working at the Texas High School Coaches Association in 1965 and retired in 1982. Woodrow built their first house on Wayside Drive in West Austin in 1948 and then they moved to south Austin in 1958. During this time they were active in several dance clubs and Nell enjoyed crafts and made all her grandchildren Christmas stockings. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. Following their retirement, Woodrow and Nell enjoyed traveling in their RV and doing genealogy research across the United States, and they compiled several volumes of family genealogy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Woodrow Wilson in 2002 and by her son Robert Wilson in 2006. She is survived by her son, John Wilson and wife Barbara of Round Rock; daughter-in-law Dannye Wilson of Wimberley; three grandsons, Anthony Mannering of Houston; Richard Wilson and wife Sonya of New York; and Robert A. Wilson of Round Rock; four granddaughters, Robin Derton and husband Skip of Round Rock; D'Ann Jordan and husband Robert of Waco; Sarah Wilson of Dallas and Brittany Wilson of Round Rock; four great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Mattie Wilson of Sherman. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish South. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas.
