During his life Richard enjoyed many hobbies including building car models, designing and building Lego structures, following NASCAR, bowling, cycling, and spending time with friends & family. When his health allowed he would be there to help a friend build or assemble things. Richard made friends easily, and once he knew your name he would never forget it. He was always ready with a joke, a pun, a piece of trivia, or a factoid from the past, or your last conversation with him.
Even as his body began to fail him, his spirit remained buoyant. He endured so much for so long. No one could have borne it more courageously.
Richard is preceded in death by his dad, Robert “Bob” F. Foley, and his sister, Patricia A. Foley. He is survived by his mom, Eleanor “Ellie” V. Foley; brothers, Frank (Nancy) Foley, and David (Jam) Foley; brother-in-law, Tony Cristofich; sisters, Sue (Steve) McFerren, Cathy Foley, Margie (Jack) Murray, and Eileen (Dean) Somerville; and many nieces and nephews.
We wish to thank Satellite Dialysis for taking care of Richard for the past 5 years and special thank you to Hospice Austin/Christopher House for their loving care of Richard in his last days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Christopher House.
