Richard M. Hurley

Brother Richard Hurley, CSC Brother Richard Hurley, 83, a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, South-West Province, passed away peacefully in Austin, TX, on Monday, October 25, 2004. Brother Richard was born in Greenville, PA, and entered the Brothers of Holy Cross at age 47. Previously he had been a member of a diocesan order of Brothers. Most of Brother Richard’s ministry was in boys’ work as a counselor at Rancho San Antonio, Chatsworth, CA, but he also served as a parish minister in Oregon and Wyoming. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. A Funeral Mass will be held at the chapel of the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence, 921 St. Edward’s Drive, on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. Memorial services are also planned at Columba Hall, Notre Dame, IN.
