Richard Lee Lunoff, 41, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was born on May 30, 1972 to Maria "Toni" and Leo Lunoff in Corpus Christi, TX. Richard graduated from Richard King High School in 1990 and attended Texas State University.
Richard was born with a congenital heart defect but never let his defect affect his life. He was an advocate to others who suffered from congenital heart defects. Richard was determined to live a normal, fun, and happy life. He had the most amazing smile which lit up any room. He loved practical jokes and his sense of humor remained with him through his final days. Richard's many hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a loyal friend in times of need and celebration.
Richard's greatest source of pride was his daughter, Hannah. He was devoted to her and she was the joy of his life. Their time together was always filled with laughter and fun. She will continue to carry his humor and infectious smile. Richard wanted to be the parent to her that our loving mother was to him.
Richard was also a devoted and loving son and brother serving as the anchor of our family following our father's death. The support and love his mother, sisters, and brother received from him will forever be cherished.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Leo Lunoff.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Hannah Maria Lunoff, his mother, Toni Lunoff McCallick and her husband, Mike McCallick, his sisters, Leanne (John) Simons and Jenny Brosseau, and his brother, Brian Lunoff. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Christopher (Aubrey) Simons, Myles Lunoff, Dylan Brosseau, Brady Simons, Katie Simons, and Milla Lunoff. Also surviving him are two stepbrothers and one stepsister in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his ex-wife, Tracy Diggs Lunoff.
Pallbearers will be Sterling Howry, Jeff Redden, John Simons, Arthur Garibay, Jaime Garza, and Robert Motes. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. John Pliska.
