Robert "Bob" Gregory Hanks was born Lewis Robert on September 26, 1956 in Charleston, SC. He went to be with his Lord January 15, 2015; his favorite shout out was "I love you God and I love you Brenda!"
He was preceded in death by his brother Kelly Hanks and father Lewis "Archie" Burns.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Hanks of Austin, TX; children Micheal Tanner and Adrienne North (Patrick); pets Becki, Boogiman, and Lili; grandchildren Justice North, Autumn North, Dakota Tanner, and Jonathan Tanner; parents Wren and Ted Hanks; siblings Thomas Burns (Diana), Donna Combs, Patricia Hanks (Dan McLendon), and Marc Burns (Penny); step-mother Virgie Burns and step-siblings Barry Hewett (Donna), Myrna Simmonds, Abby Gardner (Jerry), and Felecia Girton (Karl); and a whole host of Seton Medical Center coworkers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family that loved, admired, and will truly miss Bob's kind humorous spirit and warm heart.
A viewing will be held 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish North Lamar, 3125 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78705. A repast will be held from 5:30 TO 7:00 p.m. at 14921 Purslane Meadows Trail, Austin, TX 78728 immediately following the viewing.
