TSGT ROBERT M. JENKINS, USAF RET. Robert Martin Jenkins was born December 19, 1921 in Rockford, IL to the late Ronald and Theresa Jenkins. He passed from this life on Friday, June 20, 2008 in an Austin hospital. An Army veteran of WW II, he retired from the US Air Force in 1964 at Bergstrom AFB. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jenkins; children, Kathleen Jenkins of Austin, Deborah Jenkins of Oklahoma City, OK, Janet Jenkins of Lago Vista, Mark Jenkins of Clearlake, TX and Robert J. Jenkins of Round Rock; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one brother, Mark Jenkins of Florida. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 23 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 24 at the chapel of Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home with Monsignor Fred Bomar officiating. Committal services will follow at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. The family respectfully request that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in lieu of floral remembrances.
