Robin was born April 27, 1953, in Breese, Illinois. He attended Mater Dei Catholic High School, and was an altar boy at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church for most of his youth. Robin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he was a Life Member. He went on to work at Texas Instruments, Factorial, and Dell Computers, where he met his wife of 25 years, Alison.
After retiring from Dell in 1999, Robin and Alison traveled to places such as Paris, London, Italy, Bermuda, Canada, Hawaii, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Hilton Head. “The Ranch” was a get-a-way Robin and Alison built near Florence, Texas where they spent 13 years relaxing in the countryside. In 2006 they sold their slice of country and purchased a summer home in “The Ocean State” Rhode Island. Wonderful adventures were had traveling throughout the East Coast and enjoying some of the freshest seafood in the country.
Robin was passionate about music and played with several bands and at many music venues. A self-taught bass guitar player, his passion was classic country and classic rock. He also enjoyed playing golf, as he felt one with nature, and formed many valuable friendships along the way. Whenever possible, Robin combined his two gifts to participate in charitable causes through music events and golf tournaments. Robin will be remembered as an advocate of higher education, being exceptionally optimistic and joyful, and for his “wicked” sense of humor. He loved his family tremendously and his country deeply. He woke everyday “Honoring the Morning/Day.” May we all take to heart his quest to make his wife laugh and bring a smile to the world daily.
Robin is survived by his wife, Alison Marie (Eastberg) Tewes, brother Terry Tewes, John & Mary Eastberg, Jim Eastberg, Curtis Eastberg & Delaine “Bud” Jechow, 9 nieces and nephews, as well as fur babies Lucy and Ethel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcellus G. Tewes and Charmaine M. Griebaum, sister, Peggy Gonzales, grandmother Mary Tewes, and nephews, John Richards Eastberg and Robert Feld.
