

Rosalie Lee Ziller Rosalie was born on March 11, 1921 in Liberty, Texas. She passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas on January 11, 2005. Rosalie was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Liberty High School. After graduating from business school, Rosalie began employment in Orange, Texas where she met her future husband. Rosalie married Theodore E. Ziller on September 4, 1943. She felt great pride when he graduated from Texas A&M and after he finished an Army tour in Korea, she joined him in France for his post World War II army assignment. While living in the Bordeaux region of France, and with many trips to Paris with French friends, Rosalie deepened her love and knowledge of antique furniture, porcelains, and jewelry. Her stories and adventures relating to this time remained forever fascinating. After living in France, they returned to reside in Liberty, Texas where she established and operated an antique shop. During this time, Rosalie was repeatedly invited to exhibit her antique jewelry in the Theta Antique Show in Houston. In the early 1960's, they moved to Austin. For twenty years, she worked at the Texas Rehabilitation Commission as executive secretary to the Commissioner Dr. Marvin Schlecte and his successor. Rosalie nurtured her many friendships. She was a member of the Austin Woman's Club, Garden Club, Antique Club, and was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. Rosalie not only recognized the beauty and value of creations and art objects; but, more importantly, she appreciated the beauty and worth of people. She was always available to help and strengthen someone in need. Her stories and reflections of life were always gloriously humorous. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Lula Sims Lee, her infant son, Lee Ziller, brothers Burl Lee, Jr., J.D. Lee, Robert Lee, and sister Mena Lee Kveton. Rosalie is survived by her husband, Theodore E. Ziller of Austin; sister, Mary Gebhart of Sugarland, Texas; many nieces and nephews in the Austin area and throughout Texas; and special friend and helper, Dorothy Jones. The family will receive and welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be Sunday, January, 16, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with interment following at Austin Memorial Park.
