Ruby Isaacks Townsend

Ruby Isaacks Townsend passed away on March 26, 2010 in Austin, Texas. Ruby was born to James and Ethel Isaacks in Liberty Hill, Texas and spent her career years as a successful business woman in the work force in Austin. She was married to James W. Townsend, a prominent Austin Attorney who preceded her in death in 1997. She was adored by her eleven nieces and nephews and was known as "Aunt Ruby" to many of their friends. Ruby will be remembered as a loving, giving and caring sister to Pat Harris Aston, her only surviving sibling of eight and a wonderful aunt to her nieces, Dorothy Jean (Polly) Isaacks Bracht of Rockport, Texas, Judy Isaacks Jones of Pleasanton, Texas, Faye Isaacks Medina of Portland, Texas, Sharon Isaacks Wegner of Gretna, Louisiana, Terry Isaacks of Georgetown, Texas, Patricia H. (Deede) Stephenson of Atlanta, Georgia, nephews, Jimmy Isaacks of Portland, Texas, Carl Edward Isaacks of Ingleside, Texas, Michael Isaacks of Gregory, Texas, Gary (Buddy) Isaacks of Aransas Pass, Texas, Paul W. Harris of Dallas, Texas, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her brothers, Herschel Isaacks, Gregory, Texas, Virgil Isaacks, Portland, Texas, Bill Isaacks, Ingleside, Texas, Floyd Isaacks, Bandera, Texas, Ray Isaacks, Georgetown, Texas and Roy Isaacks, Gregory, Texas. Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Austin and attended her Sunday School Class which she enjoyed and was loved by all its members. She was a member of the Austin Lawyers Club, The Austin Women's Club, the Austin City Club and the Garden Club of Austin, and other social and civic service organizations. Aunt Ruby was surrounded by family and her wonderful caregiver team, Jackie, Debbie, Toni and Tomara. In lieu of flowers and in memory of her, please remember the charity of your choice or the Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Austin, Texas. Services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. We will miss Aunt Ruby very much. Honoring Ruby as pallbearers will be Jimmy Isaacks, Carl Edward Isaacks, Michael Isaacks, Gary (Buddy) Isaacks, Terry Isaacks, Paul W. Harris.
