Sandra Kay Behr

Sandra Kay (Dover) Behr, age 77 passed away peacefully the morning of October 7, 2023, at her home in Longview, Texas surrounded by family & loved ones. She was born April 3, 1946, in Galveston, Texas to Wesley M. Dover Sr. and Mary Edelene Silvernail.

After graduating from Dominican High School (1964) in Galveston, Texas Sandra attended a business school on the island during the following year. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years and was also an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) until her passing.

Sandra married Roger L. Behr on May 18,1968, and was blessed with 3 children. She is survived by her oldest sister, Barbara Lea Dover; daughter, Tammy (Patrick) Akers; youngest son, Bryan (Michelle) Behr; 4 grandchildren, Ashleigh (Preston) Branch; Samantha (Charlie) Potts; Harrison & Hillary Behr; 3 great grandchildren, Ezra, Elli, Quaid and numerous nieces & nephews.

A visitation for Sandra will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A rosary service will occur Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723. A funeral divine liturgy will occur Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady's of Maronite Catholic Church, 1320 E 51st St, Austin, TX 78723.
