Sandra Holmes Standley, 60, of Austin, died April 10, 2017. She was born November 8, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas, the daughter of George and Ida Judice Grimes Holmes. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, and attended Lamar University.
Sandra loved cooking, traveling, arts and crafts, and listening to the Blues. She especially loved living in the "Jewel of Texas" as she called Austin the last 35 years.
Survivors include her husband Billy Standley; daughters Elizabeth Grimsley and Alisha Mihail; sisters Sherry Hunt and Deborah Hanes; granddaughters Paige and Ivy Mihail and London Grimsley; grandson Jaylen Amidon; brother Larry Crump; and a host of nieces and nephews, and her Austin friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother Ida Grimes, stepdad John Grimes, father George Holmes, son Trey Standley, and sisters Georgiana Hiavinka and Pat Stephenson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, Texas 78731.
