Steve "Estevan" Munoz

Steve was born on September 27, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Jose Munoz and Petra Espinoza Munoz. He attended Roosevelt High School from 1972 to 1976. In 1985, he moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue his career as an office machine technician and later bought the business in 2008 and renamed it “Duncan Munoz Office Machines,” where he owned and operated his own business for more than 18 years.

Steve was a wonderful man, a devoted friend and a loving husband and father. He married Tammy Munoz in 2002, and the couple had their child, Stefanie Munoz, in 2004. They remained married until his death and had just celebrated 24 beautiful years of marriage on February 23.

Steve, along with his four brothers, were avid baseball players, coached for many years by their father. Baseball brought their family much joy and togetherness, regularly attending their favorite team, the Houston Astros, games together. He also loved watching football and basketball; he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan.

Steve never missed an opportunity to be with his loved ones, especially his daughter, who brought him so much pride and joy. He loved family reunions and get-togethers, such as the annual tamalada his family would host. He and his wife, Tammy, made countless memories together. They were inseparable, playing horseshoes and barbecuing in their backyard. They also loved playing pool and bowling; they were incredibly competitive and would never let the other one win easily. Quality family time was Steve’s favorite hobby.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Munoz; his mother, Petra Espinoza Munoz; and his twin brother, Eddie Munoz.

Steve is survived by his wife, Tammy Munoz, and his daughter Stefanie Munoz, his brother Joe Munoz and his wife Edna Munoz, his brother Mike Munoz, and his brother Cris Munoz, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

The visitation is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. A rosary will follow at 2:00 pm, and the service will be held at 2:30 pm.
