Susie Cardenas Tijerina

Susie Cardenaz Tijerina, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 5, 2025. Born as Jesusa to Petra and Venreslado Cardenaz on December 24, 1942. Susie dedicated her life to family, faith, and love. At just 15 years, she met the love of her life, Robert, and the two began a beautiful journey together. They were married for 65 years, building a life filled with laughter, strength, and enduring devotion until his passing. Their love was the foundation of the family they raised and the legacy they leave behind.

A proud stay-at-home mom and homemaker, Susie poured her heart into raising her children and creating a home where love was always in the air and the door was always open. She was the proud grandmother of 19, and great-grandmother of 31, and nothing brought her more joy than the time she spent with them. Her home was the heartbeat of the family.

She supported her family endlessly, whether through words of wisdom, a warm meal, or simply her calming presence. Her quiet strength, selflessness, and unconditional love shaped generations and touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

She is survived by her children Mary Ann(Rob), AnnaBell(Richard), Katherine(Ralph), Joel, and Susan; her siblings Stella and Lucy; 19 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; her son, Robert; her parents, Petra and Venreslado; her siblings Laura, Mike, Willie, Pete, Ruben, and Katie.

Escorting her to her final resting place are her grandsons Anthony Jr, Lawrence, Joe Robert, Timothy, Robert, Joshua,Pete, Jacob and Christian, along with honorary pallbearers Meghan and Jaq. Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, hand in hand once more.
