Suzanne Jane Donatucci

Suzanne is a graduate of Streator High School in Streator, Illinois and The School of Cosmetology in Joliet, Illinois. She owned and operated beauty salons in Streator, Illinois. In addition, Suzanne also bought and sold antiques and owned her own business “Elegant Antiques.” Later she studied art and had art exhibitions in Pennsylvania cities. She developed an interest in music and particularly enjoyed The Austin Lyric Opera. Suzanne was active in the Catholic Church serving as Director for procurement and assignment of Eucharistic Ministers to provide communication to the hospitalized. She was devoted to The Blessed Virgin Mary and active in Catholic Charities, Senior Ministries, and a number of other charities all dedicated to helping the sick and poor.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Szobar and Emma Dovin Szobar. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 53 years John J. Donatucci, sons John N. Donatucci and granddaughter Nicole Donatucci Brister; son Mark and wife Colleen Donatucci and their four children, Michael Donatucci, Matthew Donatucci, Kelly Donatucci and Caitlin Donatucci all from California and a sister, Rose Benstine (Robert) from Phoenix, Arizona.

Visitation will be begin at 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, with Rosary at 8:30 on December 8, 2015 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752.

Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 pm on December 9, 2015 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 203 East 10th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.

In lieu of cards and flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to favorite charities.
