I knew Theo for a good few months in my sophomore year. We had a class together. Just ended up losing touch. They made our class funny, bright. The light they brought into every room they went into can never be replicated. Even the idea they passed without seeing who they could've been hurts my soul. They had so much potential. So much to reach for, to hold, to have. I cannot blame them, some people's ending comes too early. If I knew I wouldn't ever be able to talk to him again, I would've thought of something better to say. RIP.

This night Val (Theo) came over to my house before we went to a concert. Our night was full of so many shared laughs, smiles, and heartfelt conversations. We met strangers all throughout that night, which Val always held a conversation with. One thing I admire most about them, their willingness and interest in getting to know complete strangers. I’ll always hold dear the moment we met, them reaching out to me with their beautiful smile and striking up a conversation. So very cherished by many, Val will be extremely missed. For they brought light to each place they stepped into, and every life they touched.

Matt, Amanda, Nola, we are so deeply heartbroken for your loss. We loved getting to know Theo and your family from our sweet Selah school community. 

We have a wonderful memory of Theo making a guest-star appearance in February 2019 during the live Wow in the World Pop-Up show at the Paramount Theatre. From our seats high in the balcony, we could hardly contain our excitement seeing “Theo from Selah” called up by hosts Guy Raz and Mindy Thomas.

The experiment involved testing whether you can taste garlic through your feet — a goofy, unforgettable moment that had the whole audience laughing and left us bursting with pride that we knew one of the “celebrities” on stage.

I never had the privilege of meeting Theo, but Dominic said only good things about being in class with him. He will be missed at austin high school and beyond. We are so sorry for your loss, and you are in our hearts and on our minds.

I saw Theo at T’s bat mitzvah and admired how he managed to hold court with everyone with a giant toothy grin, like the precocious bowtied boy on a sitcom who manages a conversation with adults mistakenly thinking they’re talking to another adult, though he’s merely 8. He was a big presence and I know you are proud to be his folks. May my prayers for your comfort be heard. Peace and love for your family.

I remember my first year at Trinity with Amanda as we shared  stories about our sons. Their birthdays are 5 days apart and were both born June 2009. I was blessed to always hear how the family and Theo was doing. I ran into Theo at Target right when school started and I asked him how he was enjoying driving. He always was a happy kid. I’m truly sorry for Theo’s passing.   He was always kind and considerate to me, and he took care of my dogs with love when I was traveling.  He will be very much missed

Theo has been part of my life for longer than I can remember. He had such a bright smile and an amazing sense of humor and would make me laugh any time I came over. I'm going to miss him so much.

Although it’s mostly been from afar, we have loved Theo from start. Amanda, Lip, Nola, you are in our prayers and we are here to provide whatever we can, whatever you need.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. I have been holding Theo, and both of you, in my thoughts since learning of his passing. I can only imagine the depth of your grief, and I am so deeply sorry.

Theo was a remarkable young person, and it was a privilege to have him in my class. He brought such thoughtfulness, curiosity, and warmth into our classroom. His kindness toward others, his confidence in who he was, and his gentle but determined way of advocating for what he believed in left a lasting impression on me and on his peers. He had a rare ease with people, and an ability to make our classroom feel brighter and more welcoming just by being in it.

I am sending you photos of the architectural model Theo created for my class. He poured such care and creativity into it, and it was a wonderful example of his talent and intelligence. I hope having it brings some comfort and a reminder of his wonderful mind and the promise he carried.

I was fond of Theo in a way teachers hope to be lucky enough to experience , not only as a student, but as a genuinely special human being. I even brought to school a pair of overalls I thought he would appreciate; it was a small gesture, but one I had been looking forward to sharing with him. It breaks my heart that I did not get the chance.

Please know that Theo made a difference here. He touched lives, including mine, and his absence is deeply felt.

Your family has always embodied so much laughter, music, and love — from festivals and Halloween adventures to your travels together around the world.
