Thomas Lee Crum

Thomas Lee Crum lost his battle with mental illness on March 29, 2022, at the age of 21. He is survived by those that held him closest to their hearts including his father Trent, his mother Marie, his sister Cole, his brother Luke, and his loyal dog Rylie. He is also survived by his grandmother Cathy, his grandfather Joe, his uncle Chris, his cousin Cody, his uncle Joey, his cousin Kate, his cousin Timothy, and his cousin Jack.

Those who were blessed to have Thomas in their lives knew of his kind heart, his infectious smile, and his larger than life bear hugs. He cared so deeply for others, and shared an unbreakable bond with those that were lucky enough to be a part of his journey. His love shined through his soulful words, meaningful encounters, and loving embrace.

Some of Thomas’ best days, from a young age, were spent in the kitchen whipping up miraculous creations for all of his loved ones to try. There was no genre of food too difficult, and no recipe too technical for him. He loved to explore different regions of cuisine and techniques, both in savory and sweet. Nurtured by his family affinity, and time spent on the line of professional kitchens, Thomas was a very talented chef and pastry chef.

Thomas enjoyed school at Caraway Elementary and Canyon Vista Middle School. He graduated from Westwood High School. Since then, he soaked up as much knowledge as he could, including computer programming, network security, sales, marketing, and insurance brokering. He also developed his natural ability for the written word through lyrics, free-flow poetry, loving words of encouragement, and theorization on a myriad of subjects he studied.

A public visitation for Thomas will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750.
