Thomas David "Sonny" Whited

Thomas David “Sonny” Whited, a lifetime resident of Austin, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born to Elmer and Angie Whited on February 19, 1926. Sonny was a member of Eastview Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and sharing his life and love with his family. We were blessed to be the ones chosen to spend this life with him.

Sonny was preceded in death by many loving family members. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Rosie Whited; sons, Gary Whited and wife, Kelley, David Whited and wife, Gwyn, and James Whited and wife, Marsha; daughters, Carolyn Smith and husband, Rex and Darlene Thomsen and husband, Peter; sons-in-law, Edward Louk, Todd Barnes, and Randy McKenzie; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald D. Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow the services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
