The fourth child of Donald Allen and Joye Boggs Flanagan, Timothy’s family moved to Japan when he was six weeks old and upon returning to the US, finally settled in Austin Texas. While enrolled in Murchison and McCallum schools, Timothy made many life long friends. He graduated from Texas Tech with a BA in economics.
Timothy and Debra (Bootz as he named her) began a life together in 1979, then married in 1984. Tim was instrumental in opening the first check cashing operations in Austin, carrying his experience to Denver for many years. He was grateful for his final years as controller at Datacom Designs.
Timothy was a man of integrity, speaking only the truth as he knew it. Detail oriented, passionate about politics, history and government, Tim could often be found in deep, and sometimes heated, discussions.
Tim’s quick wit and humor will carry on beyond his days. He possessed sensitivity for animals, especially his treasured Texas Blue Lacy, Lucky.
Tim was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Kathleen Coffey. He is survived by his mother, whom he adored and relished spending time with each week, before Wednesday night family dinners. Also, his brother, Patrick(Anne), sister, Mari Jaynes(David), nieces, nephews, friends and his adoring wife, who counts among her greatest gifts, the fact that Timothy chose her in marriage.
Timothy also leaves behind his two greatest joys, daughters Seána and Brigid.
A memorial to celebrate Timothy’s life will be held October 12 at 6pm, 8800 McMeans Trail near South MoPac and 1826. Rain or Shine. Carpool if you can and wear your boots!
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a memoriam fund at www.youcaring.com/flanagan
