

He was born in Dallas, Texas on April 2, 1933, the son of Oleta Faye Glover Turner and Clyde Turner. Tommy attended Forest Avenue High School and served in the US Air Force. While attending UT, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, he met and married the love of his life, Gail Hood Turner. Their son, Richard Turner was born in November, 1960.
A long time resident of Westlake Hills, Tommy built a successful business at Austin Bearing and also managed operations at Austin White Lime.
Tommy was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend. He enjoyed telling stories and he had the gift of compassion; Tommy could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He loved to travel and spent many summers in the mountains of Oregon with dear friends.
He was a man of Integrity, great Faith and Loyalty. All of his life Tommy was a devout student of the Bible and he was a member of Berachah Church of Austin.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gail Turner, and his son Richard Turner. He is survived by his sister Joan Thorpe; daughter-in-law Linda Turner; and granddaughter Natalie; and numerous cousins and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, April 27th, 2018 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Celebration of his remarkable life: Saturday, April 28th, Weed-Corley-Fish at 10:00 am.
