Born on January 25, 1986, in Dripping Springs, Texas, Tony grew up surrounded by the love of his parents, James Walter Hurt and Loretta Suzanne Hurt, and his devoted siblings, Lori and Michael. In his early life, Tony attended Dripping Springs High School and hailed from Dripping Springs.
Tony’s life was filled with passion and artistry. His deep love for music and singing reflected his soulful nature, while his enthusiasm for football, gaming, and modeling showed his vibrant curiosity and zest for life. Whether performing a song, cheering for his favorite team, or sharing laughter with family and friends, Tony brought warmth and joy wherever he went.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Suzanne Hurt; grandparents, Jesse “Mike” and Evelyn Poston, and Truman and Margie Hurt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, James Hurt; sister, Lori De Leon and husband, Eduardo; brother, Michael Bassford and wife, Naivi Garcia; uncle, Ottis Poston; aunt, Charlene Poston; nieces and nephews, Zachary De Leon, Jayden De Leon, Christian Bassford, Michael Bassford Jr., Jeremiah Garcia, Hope Amidon, and Eviana Gonzales Bassford; and his loyal dog, Izzy. Tony is also survived by his longtime best friend, Travis Thomas, who stood by him through life’s every season.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, located at 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, on November 11, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Musicians Foundation or PAWS Shelter of Central Texas – Kyle, Texas, in honor of Tony’s love for music and animals.
Tony will be remembered for his kind heart, creative spirit, and the light he brought into every life he touched. His song may have ended, but his melody will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
