Trenna Jo Pickett died March 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Veach Pickett, a salesman and Doris Maxine Anderson Pickett Bosler, a receptionist. Upon Veach’s death Maxine remarried Paul Bosler. Together they began their life on a farm outside of Mooresville, Missouri. Trenna was born in Vandalia, Illinois where her parents initially began to raise cattle. She is survived by her special friend Carol Leigh Barnes.
Trenna grew up in Chillicothe, Missouri. She got her Bachelor of Science degree from Culver Stockton College in Illinois and earned her Master of Education from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas Sate) in San Marcos. Trenna’s greatest accomplishment was her career as a speech language pathologist. Not only did she serve many children, she also mentored many other colleagues in Austin Public Schools.
When one met Trenna she would introduce herself as Trenna Pickett “like the fence” never mentioned her first name. She may then mention she was a proud Chi Omega and was president of her graduating class. Her graduating sisters formed a traveling group to stay in touch. Every other year the group would go to the hometown of the state they lived. The host was to plan the adventure for the trip. Trenna took her friends to San Antonio.
Trenna levels of interest were beyond volunteering. She helped with Church Women United, Micah Six food pantry, and placing families that were new to this country. For fun she enjoyed ushering for the Austin Symphony and was awarded for her 20 plus years of service. At her church: she enjoyed her Sunday School class, book study and bell choir. Trenna looked forward to and continued these activities when she could no longer drive.
Most of all she enjoyed her social life with her family of friends. Being an only child Trenna was quite dedicated to each, as each was to her. Dollar movies and dates to Red Lobster!
Trenna had a love for rescuing animals. She did not believe in capturing wildlife for the zoo nor would she visit such areas. When a stray animal was found she did her best to find it a home.
Trenna is survived by Team Trenna: Cecilia Berg, Melodee Konde, Nancy Schumann, Pat Thomas, Amna Zaida and Mary Frances Markley.
In remembrance Trenna would like to have donations made to Austin Humane Society or an animal charity of your choice.
Services will be held at Weed Corley Fish, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 pm with a reception to follow. Trenna will be buried at the Ravanna Cemetery, next to her mother in Ravanna, Missouri.
