A mischievous grin. Twinkling eyes. A rumbling laugh. Tyler Wilfert, 54. Had all of those - and more. Born April 12, 1953 to the late Luke Anthony Wilfert and Anna Rilla Wilfert in Anchorage, Alaska, Tyler was the son of the "died-in-the-wool" Air Force man who, shortly before he was born, shot the largest Kodiak bear in Anchorage. Tyler had the bear rug to prove it. He left this world far too early on Friday, December 14, the result of a vehicle accident. Tyler is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Tanya; daughter, Tayler and her husband Jason Wiernasz of Tulsa, OK; son Arthur Rivera of Austin. He is also survived by his sister and best friend, Kathleen "Kat", her husband William Fleming and their sons, William Anthony and Wade Hugh of Collinsville, OK. His mother, Anna, lives in Bull Shoals, AR. Four years in the Air Force and four years in Tech Support at Dell Computers gave Tyler many stories. But the stories his family tells take the spotlight. He dragged his older sister, Kat, to see all three of the Lord of the Ring movies and then to the scariest part of Disney Land. She "hates" scary things. He took his wife Tanya, on an Alaskan cruise, gave her a single rose often, because she was "his one perfect rose". He loved to watch drag races and was the total commanding officer when it came to the TV remote. His enthusiasm and love touched many lives, at work, at play and in his extended family. Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, December 17 at Wilke-Clay-Fish. Tyler, you left us too soon, but we will remember the joy of your life forever in our hearts.
