

Victor Ruiz, III, age 75 of Austin passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, November 18, 2008 after a valiant fight against cancer. Victor leaves a legacy of dedication and service to his Lord, his family, friends, and community. Victor was born November 21, 1932 in Austin, Texas, the son of Victor, Jr. and Jennie Porfirio Ruiz. He began his favorite career with the Austin Public Library in the facilities services division and retired in 1998. Prior to this he volunteered with the Salvation Army as a youth director for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly; brother, Daniel Ernest Ruiz. He is blessed with a loving family, his wife of 53 years, Ruth H. Ruiz; sons, Victor IV (Stephanie) of Corpus Christi, Chris (Myra) of Pflugerville, Kevin (Julia) of Pflugerville; daughter, Patricia K. Ruiz of Austin; eleven grandchildren, James Asadpour, Jessica, Isabella, Gabriel, Brittany, Jacquelyn, Anisa and Mark Ruiz, Chris, Daniel, Marc Martin; brothers, Jim (Carrie), Santo "Buddy" (Candace), John (Lupe); sister, Anna Sanchez; several nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home.
