

Virginia (Vallarino) Hill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, with her family by her side. Virginia was born in Austin, TX on August 3, 1954 to Robert and Hazel Vallarino. She lived her life full of joy, happiness, and love for everyone she met.
Virginia loved her family and spent her life building the family that she wanted. Married in 1979 to her best friend, Brent Hill, they raised 2 children, Mandy and Patrick. Virginia was an active member in her kids' lives, volunteering and helping wherever she could, just to be close. She loved family trips to go skiing and to the beach. She and Brent loved to be together, no matter where they were or what they were doing.
Virginia has 5 grandchildren, who affectionately called her Ginny. She liked to tell her friends that their grandkids were cute, but too bad that hers were the cutest and the best. Whenever she was with them, she was on the floor engaged, laughing, and playing with them. Nothing made her happier than when her whole family was together.
Virginia was born and raised in Austin where she graduated from Austin High in 1972. She then went to Stephen F. Austin State University where she graduated in 1976 and went on to pursue her career as a speech pathologist. She spent years teaching in Corpus Christi, Georgetown, and eventually ended up working at Oak Hill Elementary until she retired in 2018. Over the years she worked as a speech pathologist, PPCD teacher, and ended her career working with older elementary special needs students. Her compassion for teaching and caring for those students shown through her each and every day.
Virginia was a devout member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she had been a member since she was 13 years old. She spent years teaching Sunday School, sponsoring the youth group and being an active member of the Diaconate and Session over the course of her life. She loved being a part of the church and was always volunteering to help in any way she could. Some of her best friends and best memories were made at WPC.
Preceded in death by her father Robert Vallarino, mother Hazel Vallarino, father in law Buster Hill, mother in law Deloris Hill, and brother in law Scott Hill.
She will be mourned, missed, and cherished by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband, Brent Hill, daughter Mandy (Kenneth) Cardenas, son Patrick (Jacquelyn) Hill, grandchildren Cooper and Reese Cardenas, Elle, Annie, and Houston Hill, sister Ramona (Tim) Jarvis, niece Jill (Nick) Marx and her children Jane and Louis, nephew John (Sarah) Jarvis and his children Jackson and Grace, and nephew Ben Jarvis, brother in law Nate (Charlotte) Hill, and his daughters Natalie and Kendall.
Virginia will forever be remembered as a caring, kind, loud, generous, and wonderful person who has forever left a mark on our hearts and will never be forgotten.
A service for the life of Virginia will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3208 Exposition Blvd., at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 11th, 2025.
