Virginia "Mima" Kelbaugh

Virginia was a devout Catholic who had been a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church for over 30 years. In many ways Virginia extended herself to other families by volunteering as a Eucharist Minister, being a member of both the outreach and bereavement groups. Prior to moving to Austin, Virginia raised her family in Mexico City. She always made her home available to anyone who needed it, whether it was for orphans or someone who just needed a nurturing place to stay.

Virginia liked to garden and loved to read, though her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially celebrating her Irish heritage.

Mima will be remembered as loving mother, and selfless woman who’s family and faith were always most important.

Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Henry Blair “PopPop” Kelbaugh, Sr. and granddaughter, Jennifer Blair Malone.

Mima is survived by her daughters, Denise Norris and husband Mike, Linda Kelbaugh and husband Robert Anderson, Tina Kelbaugh and life partner Dave Beaumont, Jenny Malone and husband Brian, Dolly Kelbaugh and husband Kourosh Hafezizadeh , Margaret Kelbaugh, and Pandora Wood; sons, Hank Kelbaugh, Jr and wife Suzanne, Matty Kelbaugh, and her dog Barkley; grandchildren, Johnny Norris, Chris Norris, Emily Anderson, Amanda Norris, Lauren Torres, Katherine Anderson, Jillian Malone, Jamie Malone, Brett Malone, Sarah Kelbaugh and Henry Kelbaugh III; siblings, Jere and Louis O’Donoghue; dear friend in Christ “Uncle Father Randal Sir” and numerous other loving family members.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd., Austin, TX 78749.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Eucharist Ministry of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
