Wayne (Fuzz) Merritt, a long-time resident of Austin, was born on August 5, 1938 in Gatesville, Texas passed away of emphysema on Thursday, July 5, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Shirley Merritt, who stood by him in his time of need. He is also survived by his three beautiful and caring daughters, Debbie Cox and husband Bill of Austin, Joann Gregory and husband Dale of Austin, April Hicks and husband Richard of Round Rock; stepson, Charlie Bartley of Austin; six granddaughters; two grandsons; four great-granddaughters; three great-grandson; and two brothers, Howard and wife Nell of Levita, and Billy and wife Audrea of Gatesville and his daughter Jaime of Portland, Oregon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm on Monday, July 9, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel.
