

Photographer, artist, poet, storyteller, chef, teacher, spiritual seeker found his way to Spirit on July 21, 2008. Born in Brenham, TX August 29, 1948, William was named after grandfathers William F. Peters and Olaf G. Kolberg. He lived on the family-owned dairy farm in Eagle Lake, TX until he was 10. He graduated from the old S. F. Austin High School (now an ACC campus), attended the University of Texas and Austin Community College. William was an adjunct faculty member in the Photography Department at Austin Community College for the past 22 years. He loved teaching and will be remembered by both students present and past as well as colleagues as a wonderful instructor who brought humor and skill to his work. William was preceded in death by his parents Donald C. and Rachel P. Kolberg and brother Pierce Butler Kolberg. He is survived by brother David Kolberg of Vancouver, WA, niece Jennifer Morgan of Van Alstyne, TX, great nieces and nephews, cousins Gail Brown of Marshall, TX, Gary Runyon and Donna Richards of MI, Raymond C. Peters of Austin, Michael Peters of Round Rock, Nina Meador and Kyle Peters of Brenham, and friends Marti and Jennifer Miller, Jay and George Erwin-Grotsky, Lois Stuart, Christian Davis and Traci Matthews, Tara Davis and her daughter Elizabeth, Katherine Martinez, Elizabeth Williams, and many colleagues, members of his spiritual community, and friends beyond number. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.
