Bill, as he was known by friends and family, was born in Austin, Texas on December 5, 1954 at 10:19 pm. He was the first of three boys born into the Miller home. He graduated from Reagan High and joined the Army in 1972. Bill served for 5 1/2 years overseas in Germany doing communications and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. In 1988, he married the love of his life, Sherri Snead, and they remained in Austin near friends and family for the rest of his life.
He was the most loving, kind, and giving person you would ever meet. He was known by those who loved him to have an insatiable appetite for knowledge, always learning something new. Bill was an exceptional athlete, training in cycling, bodybuilding, martial arts and even became certified as a knife fighting instructor. He was also extremely creative, and made beautiful custom knives.
Later in life he became a self-employed blacksmith, making some amazing pieces of art. He was also passionate about gardening. Bill and Sherri were active members in his childhood church, Hyde Park Baptist, for his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Sherner Miller. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sherri; mother, Peggy; brothers James and Philip (Dolly); brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Tommy and Laura Snead, Kelly and Stacy Hunnicutt, and Stephani Buckingham; mother-in-law, Tomagene Snead; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
