William Richard Rowan

William Richard Rowan died March 5, 2010, in Austin, Texas. He was born in Washington, DC, to Dorothy Mae (Hagerman) and James Gerard Michael Rowan on January 8, 1954. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Rowan of Austin; two sisters, Dorothy Rowan Seils and husband Allan of Austin, and Nancy Rowan Stevens and husband Michael of Kyle; one brother, James Michael Rowan and wife Teresa of Heath; four nephews, Damon Michael Seils of Carrboro, North Carolina, James Michael Rowan of San Marcos, and Clint Thomas Rowan of Denton; and three grand-nephews, Rowan Lee Seils, Evan Zachary Seils, and Jon Perran Seils of Austin.

Bill was an avid baseball fan and introduced many members of the next generation to his passion for collecting baseball cards. He was known for his baseball caps and sense of humor, his memory for numbers and love of the lottery. He was friendly and generous to a fault. He was loved and will be missed. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Reverend James Martin CSC officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Monte Siesta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4501 Dudmar Drive, Austin, TX 78735-6913.
