Born in St. Felicien, Gerry's career began in the military as a navigator with the Air Force, and he was proud to have served during the Korean War. His career in the military resulted in frequent moves of his family throughout Canada and Europe and cemented many long lasting friendships. All of those friends have gone ahead saving him his place at the bridge table.
Gerry enjoyed a second career with the Canadian federal government which brought the family to the other side of the country.
A well educated and well travelled man, Gerry loved nothing more than hopping on his bike in the summer and on his skis in the winter. He also enjoyed quiet moments on the glider in the backyard reading a good book and sipping on a Coors light.
Hanging out by the pool with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gave him much joy.
Gerry is predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Henriette Busque, his granddaughter Ashley (Johanne and Todd Van Dusen) and his grandson Philippe (Daniel and
Josee Guertin). He is survived by his children Daniel (Ying Ying Shi), Linda (Brent Levins), Johanne (Todd Van Dusen), Christine (Glenn Albert) and
Cynthia (James Forsythe), his 11 amazing grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Special thanks are extended to Veterans Affairs Canada for their support over the years.
Gerry's family will celebrate his life this summer with an intimate gathering in his beloved backyard. His ashes will join his wife's at a later date.
