3 February, 1959 – 14 September, 2022
An incredibly bright light has been extinguished too soon: Joseph Golding died in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 September, 2022 of a heart attack. Joe’s generous spirit and passion for life were boundless. He was always willing to lend a hand. And we all know how much Joe liked an audience: he loved to entertain a crowd either with a joke or by playing his guitar and singing. He also had a serious side. As a child and youth counsellor he helped countless children. He authored two children’s books of which, rightfully, he was so proud. Joe was an outdoors man: he was a licensed white-water rafting guide in B.C. where he lived for many years. He found great joy in camping, kayaking, hiking, gardening, boating, and travelling - all activities that he shared with his life partner of 32 years, his beloved wife Janet. He will be sorely missed by her, his sister Pat, his nephew Tyler, his extended Currie family, his cuddly cat Ivy, and his many dear friends and work colleagues. As Joe wished, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Joe would have been pleased with a donation to an organization whose efforts benefit children or animals. Sweet dreams Joe.See more See Less
