Sam was born in Drummond, NB and was raised in Grand Falls, NB by predeceased parents Emma Martin Ouellette and WW I amputee Valerie Ouellette (Vimy Ridge). During a successive career at the National Arts Centre of Canada in Ottawa, he received a Valued Employee of the Year award for exceptional efforts during a local flood.
He enjoyed a full life, which included snow-birding in Florida during his retirement years where he cherished reunions with the American side of the Ouellette family.
