Sharon (McConnell) Young

Sharon, the daughter of Thomas McConnell and Atholie Sunderland, and loving wife to her husband, Samuel Young whom she shared 66 years of her life with. She was not only a wife, but also a mother to Heather (and her partner, Pierre), Shawn, and a proud grandmother to Emma. Sharon will be fondly remembered by her two brothers, sister, and the numerous hearts she touched. Although Sharon is leaving us too soon, she has long awaited a reunion with her friends and family again.

We will remember her as someone who was involved in her church since the age of 18, discovering her true purpose and genuine joy in helping others. Her passion of baking for others, particularly cakes, reflected her generous spirit. You would always find Sharon reading her books, or watching her books, or watching her game shows. But most importantly, Sharon always prioritized the needs of others before her own, leaving a lasting impression on those around her. Her generosity and dedication will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 1 Eardley Road, Gatineau (Aylmer), Quebec J9H 7V5. The family will receive condolences at church at 10 a.m.
