Wiebke Ludewig (nee Frirdich) died in hospital on May 28, 2016 in Gatineau. She was 74. Wiebke was born on September 2, 1941 in Hamburg Germany. She had a love for travel, and was fortunate to have the experience of living in both Sweden and California, before settling in Canada. Wiebke had a passion for literacy and the arts. She truly enjoyed the opera and the ballet, and had the pleasure of seeing many of the famed stars on the stage. Wiebke was a longtime volunteer and member of the SPCA of Western Quebec. She also volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital for ten years. Wiebke will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Erwin Ludewig, her step-daughter Astrid (Peter) and by her sister in Hamburg Germany, Ursula. Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering, in a celebration of her life, on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2-4pm at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp Funeral Home 46, Denise Friend Gatineau (Aylmer). In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wiebke can be made to the SPCA of Western Quebec.
