Angie was born on December 14th, 1975 in Columbia City, Indiana and raised by her mother Rebecca (Fey) Wasyluk and her father, Greg Hart. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1994, then went on to work as a receptionist in a local doctor’s office. From birth, she battled (and kicked the ass of) cystic fibrosis.
In February of 2000, Angie met the love of her life, Keith Weiss, while out with mutual friends in Columbia City, IN. They were married on August 10th, 2001 in an intimate ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. In April of 2002, they welcomed their first child, Reygan Marianne. Their second child, Kellan Keith, was born in January of 2010 in Peoria, Illinois. Angie considered motherhood to be her life’s greatest accomplishment.
After Reygan was born, Angie decided to go back to college to earn a BA in Business Administration. She graduated from Huntington University in 2009, with honors. After school, she began to work in healthcare contracting, a field that she loved and worked in up until her death. Angie was very proud of her academic and professional achievements, as she wanted to show her children that anything is possible at any time in your life.
The Weiss’ moved several times after leaving Columbia City, IN; first to Peoria, IL, then St. Charles, IL, to Schwenksville, PA, and finally to Babylon, NY. Wherever they went, Angie made fast friends with new neighbors and coworkers. She was always ready to sit on the deck, have a glass of wine, and chat about anything with anyone. Angie was a great listener, and an even better friend, and her laugh filled every neighborhood they lived in.
Angie loved the beach, warm weather, and laying in the sun. After vacationing to the Port Charlotte area of Florida for almost 20 years, she considered it to be her happy place. Her favorite beach activity was to hunt for seashells, many of which ended up coming home with her. She loved scary movies, 80s music, and romance novels. She could swear like a sailor and drove a car like a bat out of hell. She never met a bottle of Rosé that she didn’t like and she hated broccoli more than any adult probably should. Angie was a force to be reckoned with and didn’t let anything get in her way, not even two chronic illnesses. In June of 2023, she finally got the chance to visit Paris after waiting her whole life to do so. Despite the pain from the cancer, she had a fantastic week doing all the things that she had been dreaming about since she was a girl, including seeing the Mona Lisa at the Louvre.
Angie is preceded in death by her older brother, Ricky Ford, her childhood dog, Tad, her maternal grandmother, Darlene Beazell, her cousin, Brian Fey, her grandmother-in-law, Marianne Spevacek, her mother-in-law, Lois Weiss, her uncle, Tom Fey, her cousin, April Marker-McClurg, her aunt, Kathleen Marker, and her paternal grandparents, Ada and Gailen Hart. She is survived by her husband, Keith, their two children, Reygan and Kellan, her mother, Rebecca (Walt) Wasyluk, her father and stepmother, Greg and Norma Hart, her brother Josh (Brittany) Stouder, and her sister Sara (Ryan) Schnitz.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Angie’s name. Without the research funded by the Foundation, she would have not been able to live the life she did. Angie would want the next generation of children like her to be able to grow up knowing they have full, healthy lives ahead of them.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Boyd-Spencer.com for the Weiss family.
