I was at the Family viewing before burial. I had just said good-bye to my brother-in-law "Carmine". 
I stepped in the other room and my phone vibrated it said "Carmine". My heart skipped a beat I had just said good-bye.
It was an old friend telling me about another friend's passing. I thought about the "Carmine" call. What if it was he ? What would he say...Maybe..Bill, I had to leave. I stayed as long as I could but had to go. Watch over Maria, The Girls, and Grandchildren. I will be watching over them always.  "Carmine"

You were always very kind to me and my family. I will always remember the great times at Bellport C.C. My thoughts and prayers to the DeMatteo family.

Carmine was much more than my brother-in-law, he was my "big brother" always there to listen, to talk, to advise. I feel blessed to have had him in my life for 55 years.  There are no words to express my sadness.  Carmine, you were such a big part of our family and things will never be the same without you. I will miss you and love you always.

There will never be another like my Godfather Carmine. 
His toughness, his humor, his kindness but mostly his love set him apart.

My Uncle Is one of my most favorite people in this world - my second father, always there with great hugs, laughs, strength, and unconditional love. We shared so many fabulous times throughout my life and I will cherish those memories always. Our love and respect for him is eternal.
