Daniel J. Lutz

He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026 . He is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara, Children Doug, Cathy (Jim), Laura (Tom) and Pam (Jeff). His grandchildren Alix, Lauren (Zach), Melissa (Rannon), Kyle (Nicole), Jensen, Sarah (Will), Katie, Jared (Madison) , Madison (Dale) and Melanie. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. Dan and Barbara were world travelers but their greatest enjoyment was found spending time with family and many of their long time friends. Dan loved practical jokes, playing cards, golf and making up special nicknames for all his favorite people! He was a master electrician and spent his entire career at the Long Island Lighting Company. He spent 2 years in the Army and was last stationed in Fort Meade, Maryland. He was an active member of the Parents Sports Association, West Babylon Athletic Association as well as a Little Conference League football coach.

A funeral service to honor Daniel's life will be held at Holloman Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne, Virginia Beach on Monday, March 9, ry of Daniel Lutz.2026 from 3-7 pm. Wake at the Claude R. Boyd Funeral Home in Babylon, NY and Funeral at Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY to be determined later this week.

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to St. Michael's Diocesan High School Alumni Association, 7100 Shore Road, Brooklyn, NY 11209 in memory of Daniel Lutz.
